Meet the person:
If you've made it over to my Instagram you may have had a chuckle over the "Navy Wife | Homestead Life" that greets you in my bio. It's definitely the simplest way to describe who I am. In 2016, I married my best friend (cheesy, but true). Being a military wife is more than a title, it's a way of life. Knowing you could be moved, or your partner could deploy at any moment is a little frustrating, but the pride that accompanies it is unlike any other. The "homestead life" is a strange life to pair with it, considering it's a lifestyle you must commit to (and pray you don't get posted often) fully.

We, as a family, began an urban homesteading journey in 2018 (on our 0.14 acre property in the heart of the suburbs). We keep bees, we grow vegetables and fruit, we craft our own soaps and hygiene products, make our own breads and we try to instill the beauty of providing for ourselves and carving for land in our children. I could write on and on about that, but if you'd like to learn more you can check out our homestead website : www.theredtreehomestead.com.

In 2017, I gained my newest and most prized title. Mama. We welcomed our little Liam into the world, thinking we understood what it meant for our lives. We didn't, obviously. He is our most perfect whirlwind. He challenges us, forces us to be a better team and inspires us to be our best selves. Then, just this year we welcomed our second child, a daughter: Fyra. Between the two of them, and our high-energy pup, our life is always chaotic. I've learned to slow down and embrace that chaos, soaking in the moments that exist amongst it. Those moments became my everything, and those are the moments that I am now passionate about documenting.
Meet the Photographer:
Everyone has inspiration, the thing that gets them out of bed in the morning, and for me it's these four. They may also be the reason I want a few extra minutes of sleep in the morning, but we'll just ignore that. Becoming a wife and Mama has acted like gasoline on fire when it comes to my drive of capture people's memories. I cherish every image I have with my wacky family, the beautiful wedding photos Matt and I can revisit, and the reminder of just how much we have.

People create memories and those sweet memories deserve to be cherished and documented.

Let your emotions sing. Be raw. Be real. Be vulnerable to creating new memories, and gift me the privilege to capture the beauty of it all. While we’re at it, let’s do more than take a picture, let’s create a friendship.
"Photography is a way of feeling, of touching of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything."
