Turning 2 is a big deal - and how else would you celebrate other than an entire cheesecake to yourself?
Arthur's mom and I were sitting one evening watching our kids play, planning Arthur's birthday session. We decided just what we wanted and agreed we would just have to wait for a beautiful sunset. We looked outside and realized that night was the night. We packed the kids up and rushed to her house to grab clothes, and to the store to grab a cake. We had less than 1.5 hours to make it all work. I'm sure the kids were so confused by the flurry we were creating, but they saw the cake and that's all they needed to know. I'm so glad we jumped when we did, because the night turned out perfectly! Click "read more" to see Arthur's reaction to his sister grabbing some of his cake 😂

So much work and love went into the details of Vanessa and Chris’ wedding but honestly, there could have been not a thing and the love between these two would have illuminated more than enough. Between the worship songs sung with full lungs, the dancing at all moments possible and the constant laughing of the wedding party and guests no one could deny how joyous of a day the wedding was. It was absolutely incredible to witness.
Everyone involved in the wedding had such great meaning to the couple. Vanessa’s dad catered the event (such an amazing thing in itself!), a family friend made the cake, another friend sang during the reception, Vanessa’s sister sang and played guitar for the first dance, and the list goes on and on. The support from family and friends was so inspiring. Even more inspiring, though, was the couple’s love of God and each other and how they made sure it was known in every aspect of the day. Bouquet: Trites Flower Shop Dresses (bridal and bridesmaid): The Wedding Chapel Bridal Boutique Suits: Le Chateau Shoes: Aldo Ceremony: Douglas Baptist Church Reception: Kelly Hill Farm Event Decorator: Chantilly Lace P.S Curious about why Vanessa is holding two bags in one of her prep photos? It's because the wonderful Hampton Inn Fredericton were kind enough to think of Vanessa and Chris' guests on that hot day, and provide free facial wipes to keep everyone cool! How amazing is that? Travelling back home and getting to meet new people as I photograph them always makes me wish I could stay forever. Especially family like Sarah, Ryan, Liam and the little one they are waiting on.
The sun blessed us with a great show through the trees for Sarah maternity session with her family. Liam enjoyed searching in the stream for sticks and watching the small fish go by. Sarah and Ryan spoke to me about their excitement about the boy growing in Sarah’s belly. As always, I left this little family adventure session feeling so grateful for my career choice and the people that I meet through it. I absolutely adore getting to photograph new families in their own homes; to take our time while capturing the intimate moments that seem so fleeting. Also, being able to photograph the baby with items of importance, whether it be stuffed animals, clothing or lockets of dear-ones passed on (like little Malcolm and his grandmother) is a big deal to me.
On just their first day home from the hospital, Shawna and Tyler welcomed me in to their home to meet their sweet, slumbering babe. He was so well behaved, enjoying all the cuddles he could possibly get. Click "Read More" to see more from the session! Waiting on your bundle of joy is such an amazing thing. I’ll be real, when I was pregnant I wasn’t sure if I wanted to get maternity photos done. BUT MAN am I glad I did. They are now memories I look back fondly on. They are the last photographs I have of just Matt and I before we welcomed our son to the world, and show just how excited we were to welcome our new addition.
When Shawna first messaged me inquiring about a maternity session, I immediately flashed back to my own. I was so thrilled to be capturing this huge moment for them. Whenever I look at these images now, they make me so happy knowing how much Shawna and Tyler loved them, but also how it was the beginning of a great friendship between my family and theirs. Rachel and Tom are those people for me. We've known each other for years, Rachel is one of my dearest and closest friends and their pairing is undeniably perfect. They are a huge reason living away from my hometown is extremely difficult.
NOW THEY HAVE A BABY? Yeah, okay. Brb. Packing my bags and moving home. But seriously, I cannot express how amazing this is. They are so in love with their little guy, Noah, you can practically see little floating hearts radiating off of them. They are undoubtedly going to be amazing parents, and although I could wish I could be right there with them, I feel so blessed that this little guy made sure I would be able to photograph his newborn photos and that we live in a day and age that despite the distance we can all be huge parts of each other's lives. Side note: Noah was a champ throughout the whole session. Click the "Read More" below tab to see more of sweet Noah's gallery. |
