Recently I've felt a need to express a form of photographic-art that I've been a little shy about in the past. Not many people know how much I enjoy photographing boudoir (yes, boudoir!) photography. As a shy, reserved and fairly conservative person it tends to be quite a shock to people when they find out. Which is actually ideal, because they then become very interested in the reason of why I find it so inspiring.
To me, there is nothing more beautiful than confidence. I, personally, suck at this. Constantly judging my appearance while having an inner battle against my "looks matter least" motif. And there is nothing more rewarding than watching a fellow woman's face light up with that "LOOK AT ME!" amazement. Guess what ladies, you are STUNNERS. Embrace it. Challenge it. Capture it.
In 20 years, no matter how you may think you look now, your future self will wish you had done it now. So that they can look back and remember the woman they were, and appreciate everything that made them who they are then. That's powerful. Whether you are motivated by a milestone, a friend that had gotten her's taken, a recent breakup, a treat for your s.o. or simply want to give it a try - do it.
Whatever your reason, let's create magic.
Take a look at the following images and appreciate these women. Women who stepped out of their comfort zone and cherished themselves. That deserves an applause.
