I’ve been extremely influenced by a few things lately: capturing sweet, real moments, creating romantic and airy images and the movement and etherealness of long dresses. Keeping those three things in mind, Michiko and Kyle’s engagement session was my dream. They chose a location that holds a lot of history and meaning to them: the house and yard that Michiko grew up in. They decided that they would like to do a partial in-home session complete with some tree trimming. And to top it all off Michiko let me know just a few days shy of the session that she would be wearing a gown for some of the session (cue happy dance). Obviously, I was in my happy place. Kyle is a dance instructor so, of course, I made sure to get them to dance lots. That’s only natural, right? Right. These two are so sweet, you can feel the love and trust they have grown together. I can’t wait for their wedding day and getting to watch that love be celebrated by everyone! The more I think about it, the clearer I realise that there really is something wrong with today's school system. Children have been spending unnecessary hours sitting down or waiting for the rest of their classmates to sit down. That's a lot of wasted time accumulating. They could have spent that walking and running. They should be playing some more even in their teenage years. There is totally nothing wrong with that. I think we are killing the next generation's dreams faster than we all could even realise this and before we knew it, it would have been too late already.
